The Wheaton Erlenmeyer Flask is made of Lexan Polycarbonate Resin that has outstanding mechanical, optical, electrical and thermal properties. This resin conforms to flame retardant standards and is scratch resistant. This resin also meets the requirements of United States Pharmacopeia (USP) XXII Class VI. The Flasks are manufactured in a class 10K clean room. The flasks are certified pyrogen-, DNase- and RNase-free and are packaged particulate free and wrapped in an easy tear, sterile bag
Wheaton offers both flat bottom and baffled Erlenmeyer Flasks. Both Erlenmeyer Shake Flasks are supplied standard with a patented vented DuoCap. The DuoCap, made of medical grade polypropylene, has a 0.22mm membrane that allows sterile gas exchange when the cap is open. When the cap is closed, the Flask becomes leak resistant. The baffled flasks are ideal for applications that require increased levels of oxygenation and mixing. The Flask and DuoCap can be autoclaved (less than or equal to 10 cycles) and can withstand temperatures up to 130 degrees C. Each Flask is gamma irradiated to sterility assurance level (SAL) of 10-6. The Flasks are transparent and feature molded graduation markings.
